Synthesis of star polymers using ultrasound‐induced <scp>RAFT</scp> polymerization

An alternative method to efficiently synthesize Core-Crosslinked Star polymers (arm-first approach) is described in this work. The star are produced utilizing a two-step, one-pot Sono-RAFT process. N,N′-dimethylacrylamide (DMA) used prepare the arms, whereas N,N′-methylenebis(acrylamide) (MAA) employed as crosslinking agent. reactions were conducted an aqueous medium at room temperature. Using sono-RAFT approach, polymerization under different applied powers, crosslinker arm ratios, and degrees of investigated determine optimal reaction conditions for synthesizing polymers. By altering power, time can be decreased by half. triblock arm, CCS polymer was produced, resulting demonstrated very high arm-to-star conversion.
